RESTRICTED GUNS -- FAC - how to get the FAC?
 

I have a regular FAC (Canada) and was wondering what I have to do to get a FAC for restricted guns? ---- THANKS

On the reverse side of your FAC it will indicate: Possession - non-restricted, Acquisition - non restricted. You need the endorsement as: Possession - non-restricted & restricted, Acquisition - non-restricted & restricted. Contact your local sporting good store or Hand Gun Club to find out who is giving the "Restricted" firearms course. Sign up, take the course, write the exam, pass it, submit the certificate along with your application (with your life history, references, spouses OK, etc etc) to CFC for your new FAC for both restricted & non-restricted.

Then join a hand gun club with an approved range and once you are in good standing with the club you will be permitted to acquire a hand gun and be authorized to transport it directly back and forth to the range but not to your local gun shop to have it repaired. For that you need a different permit. Have fun. Don't you love our Canadian laws. :) gg.
