What do people think about this caliber?

RE: 204 Ruger?

i think it is a attempt to get into the superfast calibers like we dont have enough i.e. the 220 swift,222,223,22-250 ect.ect. i am a fan of larger calibers. but then again something traveling close to 4200 fps should do something when it hits that chuck:eek:

RE: 204 Ruger?

IMHO it's another cartridge that's really not needed.Just something for Ruger and Hornady to make money with.Other companies will follow. This makes the second cartridge with Ruger's name on it.I really don't think the 480 Ruger was that big of a success.Yes,they've sold some but probably not nearly what they had hoped for. There are so many good calibers already out there that have proven themselves. The 204 is probably a good round, but it has to be proven to me before I would ever consider buying one.

RE: 204 Ruger?

I've had one for three years now.....No it's not a .204.....it's the same except based on the .223 case verses the .222 Mag case.

If you're a prairie dog shooter this round will make you smile.....it's a great round!!!

Is it needed?.....of course not.....but in fact at least 75% of today's centerfire cartridges are not needed!!!!
