RE: Model 94 in 307 Winchester

I owned one of the .307's in the mid 80's. It was a great shooting gun out to 300 yards, that's as far as I practiced with it. We were shooting reloads but don't remember the powder but we did use the flat nose 150 grain boat tail bullet. The gun would shoot sub 1 inch groups at 100 yards. The reloads we were shooting were hot and you couldn't shoot them on a hot day cause you couldn't eject the shell after shooting. Back then, I didn't realize that a hot outdoor temperature would effect the cartridge. I thought the gun was coming apart and got rid of it. I wished I had kept it.

Well its a go everyone,

Just waiting to finalize the shipping and the rifle is mine.

Thanks for everyone's input. Looking forward to comparing it to the 308 Win Blr I have at the range.

Well, I think that your really going to like it. I'm not sure that it's really fair to compare it to the capabilities of a box fed .308, but for a 200-yard quick handling deer or timber elk rifle, I think it is a very good rig. The great bonus is that it is a collectable varient of the Model 94, that you won't find on every street corner. Good luck and good hunting!
