.257 - 7MM STW??
Anyone ever heard of a guy making this gun? I read an article online about this 7MM STW necked down to take .25 rounds. The article was crazy. Is this for real? Anyone ahave one? Supposedly made by James Ferguson. The writer called it a "Hot Tamale" Thanks. -Mike

RE: .257 - 7MM STW??
I have heard of the 257-STW, but have not read about it. I have been told that it only offers about 100-fps over the 257-Weatherby? I bet the barrel has a short life.;)

RE: .257 - 7MM STW??
I wouldn't get too excited.....if you own a .257 Weatherby you're likely at the end of the road for .25 calibers.
You can pour more powder into it but you're not likely to get much more out of it. |
RE: .257 - 7MM STW??
The 257 stw is for real and it does offer up to 200fps more velocity than the 257wby mag but it does so at the cost of much more powder and an even shorter barrel life.

RE: .257 - 7MM STW??
I talked to a gunsmith at Christensen Arms who has built them, and proclaims they preform excellent. Good luck.

RE: .257 - 7MM STW??
Gunsmith friend in Alabama builds quite of few of them along with a 6.5 version..lately he has been building 6.5 WSM's and they work out well also. and barrel life while short is still not bad if the gun isn't shot much. He says they are very accurate.
