The Zeiss Conquest line has shown up in a number of "scope" threads. I'd consider the Zeiss on reputation alone, given the quality of their top end scopes. However, I'd like to hear experiences from anyone who owns and/or has personally used a Conquest scope in the field.
Also, would like links to any site that has an objective field review of the Conquest line, something like the reviews of scopes at SniperCountry.com. (See for example, http://www.snipercountry.com/LeupoldLRM1.htm)
cogito, ergo armatus sum.

Legionnaire, Finaly got my hands on a Conquest in 4.5-14*44 yesterday. First one I've found in three months! Noticed several differences comparing to a Leupold VX-III. First off was that the turrent caps are plastic. Leupolds are Aluminum. The adjustment cams are totaly different too. You can turn the Ziess with your finger tips, their tight and have clicks per 1/4". What I don't like is that you have to look at the sides to see the reference marks, which are barely 3/32" high. There are no reference numbers either, and the marks only go 1/2 way around the dial. Looks like you have 12" of index marks. By lifting the spring loaded ring out you can reset the index to where you want it. I prefer the system Leupold uses where you can re-index the tab, and it has numbers so you don't have to count the clicks. The focus knob for the AO is on the left side of the turrent on the Conquest, which is what I'm looking for, but the the knob is again plastic, and is easy to turn. I'd rather it be stiff like the other adjusting dials. It also has a little "Ziess" sticker on it that will proubly disapear the first time it gets wet. The 4.5-14 only has 43" of elevation adjustment, looks like tapered bases are in store for my custom rifle when it gets here. The "Z" plex is a heavy duplex rectile. As far as clarity, it's as clear as a Vari X-III, need to compare them in the field. I'm going to mount it on a Rem .300 Ultra Mag BDL which I'm using as a test bed rite now, I'll get back with you after I shoot it sometime this week.
