what luck!

how's this for luck? i have a friend who went skeet and trap shooting for the first time with me today... in fact, it was the first time he had ever shot a gun. i figured since he didn't have a gun we would just share mine since i would be helping him out mostly anyways... but two nights ago, he decided to just ask his dad if he had any spare shotguns lying around because he used to shoot. he said there was one over at my friends grandfather's house in a case and that he could take that and whatever else was in the case. well when we got there and opened the case, we found a 20 year old remington 1100 that was a virgin gun inside. also there was an old marlin 22 lr and both were in great shape... i cleaned them out last night since we were going today and we shot the shotgun today. it has a full choked 30" barrel and shoots great. when we got back, chad's dad asked him how he likes his new guns!!! i was so happy and jealous at the same time... haha we are gonna go and shoot the 22 this week sometime and see how that is. i wish i could just happen upon a nice gun like that for free! my dad is against guns so when i left for college i started my collection late, but he sure got a good jump start!!!

If he shot skeet with a full choke (and hit any of them) he's a better man than me!

RE: what luck!

we actually shot skeet and trap... he hit two trap and one skeet... i thought that was awesome... i hit 17 trap with it and 10 skeet... it was a good gun... but i learned to shoot skeet (by accident) with a full choke, now i shoot with improved cylindar and shoot better with that... no wonder... i was just happy he hit anything at all and that the gun fit him... not bad for your first time ever shooting a gun!
