Oh my God, what have I done eldeguello?!?!?! So you are telling me that this little orange bottle of Hoppe's #9 that says "Lubricating Oil, High Viscosity and Penetration" which is identical to what I have used on all my guns for years, ISN'T even safe for my new gun[
]?!?!?! What have I done?!?!?!
To aunsaber and a few others, I am going to the range tomorrow to see how it does with another 150 or so rounds through it and then I will talk with the shop I bought it at.
Thanks for all the great suggestions and informative help once again,

pyral, what ammo are you feeding it? This coud be part of the problem as has already been mentioned. There are a lot of thing that can cause these problems in a 1911, if you're feeding full house FMJ ammo and you're not limp wristing then that's a good start, but making sure that you are doing both of these will eliminate quite a few 1911 feeding problems, as will getting a quality mag. Get back with more info after the range session, and we may be able to help earlier.
As for the Hoppes No. 9, it's a good oil. But, for the slide rail on a 1911 you really want a good grease type lubricant since it tends to stay in place better than an oil. I've been using Tetra on mine and have very happy so far.

Alright, got rained out yesterday, so I went to the range today. I put 150 rounds through the gun and the slide caught at most 5 times. I seriously don't think it is the ammo or clip as the slide doesn't come into contact with either of these before it stops. But just for grins, I ran a box of CCI Blazer 230gr FMJ, a box of Winchester 230gr FMJ, and a box of Winchester 230gr HP. And like I said, out of 150 rounds it caught only 5 times at the most. It didn't catch on any particular brand or style bullet more than any other so I really think I need to just keep putting rounds through it like some of you said. This weekend I am going to the shop to purchase a few more clips and I will talk to him about it anyway.
Thanks for all your help guys.
