Very Interesting Bullet's

hey all i was just watching myth busters and they were testing to see if there actually was a magical bullet that was used to assasinate a president.

the myth claims that a bullet could be fired from a high powered rifle and once it hits the target, the bullet disapears.

they first tested a bullet made of water that was frozen in liquid nitrogen, this didnt work as the bullet wasnt even strong evnough to get outta the mould. failure.

second test they used ground meat and packed it into a bullet mould, froze it in nitrogen again and the actaully fired it at bllistic gelatin at 30 paces. the bullet hit the target like a shotsun usin #9 pellets. failure.

third test was a bullet made of ballistic gelatin, frozen in nitrogen again and fired at the same target. it did indeed hit the target but only penetrated a little more than 1 inch. failure

fourth test was the same ballistic gelatin bullet fired from a handgun at point blank range. it penetrated 5 or 6 inches to the bone. failure still tho as the assasin was far away from the president.

so, they couldnt find anything that would work but a letter from the CIA stated that they could not give out info about a disapearing bullet so all the guys on the show came to the conclusion that one does actually exist, but the CIA cant talk.

one very cool bullet was made of a normal jacket, but instead of being filled with lead, it was filled with dense liquid. the ppl talkin about this stated that it is one of few bullets that tranfers 100% of the energy into the target.

just figured id let ya'll know about this show.

Both bullets would technically transfer all of their energy to the target. Its a good example on how energy transfer is overrated. The amount of energy in a bullet is actually pretty small and doesn't accurately translate into tissue damage as much as bullet construction does.
