Remington 11-87?????

I have been looking all over for months for a left hand shooter auto-loader, and I think I finally found one!!! I came accross the Remington 11-87 Premier LH new for $599 at, i hate to say it, WalMart. I have either called or een to every gun store within 150 miles, and have freinds in Alabama and South Carolina looking for guns for me. I have found a couple used LH in Winchester and Remington, but they didn't feel right (Model 1400 MKII for the Winchester and Model 1100 for the Remington). I love the feel of the 11-87 and was wondering if anyone has had any experience/prolems with them. It would be 12 ga. I also saw a couple Benellis, but those are too pricey for an autoloader. I also looked at OU, but I have good taste and cannot afford a Citori or a Red Label. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum. I've had my Remington 11-87 for about 15 years now and i've never had a problem with mine at all. It's always worked and performed flawlessly. Mine has a 28" barrel with 3 chokes and shoots 2-3/4 & 3" shells. I use it for dove, ducks and an occasional rabbit hunt. It's a nice shotgun imo.

ONLY PROBLEM WITH MY 11-87 WAS THE RUBBER "O" RING, OTHER THEN THAT THE SHOTGUN IS GREAT!!!

I have had an 1187 since they brought them out(87). The only problem I have had and a few buddies had the same thing happen is the fore end cracked. They may have solved this problem by now. But I replaced the fore end and stock with a synthetic one. Mechanically it works great.

thanks guys! with the "o" ring thing... how expensive is it to repair that? Also with the fore end cracking... i am new to autoloaders and shotguns in general... what does that mean, and how much time and money is involved in fixing that? thanks again...

Go to home depot, buy a bunch of o-rings for under a buck. Keep one extra with you while hunting. takes about 20 seconds to repair. As far as the forarm, you just got to buy a new one. Its cracked wood, unless you get a synthetic.
