Recoil Pads

I'm changing out the stock recoil pad on my Browning A-Bolt Syn Staker 300WSM. And I would like everyone's option on what recoil pad is better the Pachmayr Decelerator or the Limbsaver Recoil pad by Sims. I have a Pachmayr Decerator on a Co-Pilot 457mag and it does a good job but the barrel has been ported.
Thanks

I have the decellerator on all of my rifles and find that it does a great job.I can not comment on the simms because I have not used them.

Im having Pameyer Dec put on my shotgun, The had two one was Limbsaver and one simuliar made of sorbothane. I didnt like them they felt too tacky and would pick up alot of dirt IMO.

I like the decelerators much better than the Simms.

One that I want to try is the HI-VIZ pad. Man that thing is super soft. It should soak up tons of recoil.

Having shot rifles with both simms and pachmayr, surprisingly I thought that the simms did a very poor job, The pachmayr decelerator on my old 7 mm magnum works very good. Let me add again, I was very surprised and shocked even at the simms pad's poor performance.

Thanks for the replys, I'm going to stick with the Pachmayr Decelerator. I checked out the Sims pads and they are just to thick and soft, looks like a good way to get a scope bite.

RE: Recoil Pads

Have a Simms pad on a lightweight magnum and felt recoil not an issue but the same applies to decelerators...I do like them they are very soft ..now long term wise not sure if they will hold up as well as a decelerator and that softness could be an issue shouldering a rifle when wearing heavy clothes... Gunsmiths at least the few I have spoken to about them do not like installing them since they are hard to grind..maybe why they came out with the grindable pads...

RE: Recoil Pads

I can't speak for the SIMS or the Decellerator but can speak favorably for the Kick EEZ. I have one installed (each) on two rifles and they work excellently. I am currently searching for a pad to fit my Benelli Nova, so far no prefit pads but SIMS makes a slip on that fits. Ray
