RE: marlin .22 question
I've shot stingers out of quite a few rifles. At least three of them Marlins. I've never gotten the accuracy out of them that I like. I'm talking about varminting out to maybe 125 yards, not target shooting. Anyway, The Stingers hit plenty hard, but I could never get them on target every time. I hear good things about Velocitors, but I haven't used 'em yet. I really like Winchester power points in everything from my Marlin 7000 to my Winchester Model 67. The 40-grainers drop some, but they're good on Prairie Dogs out to 100 yards. For my Marlin 25MN, I like the Remington 33-grain v-max in 22 magnum. So there's two cent's worth.

RE: marlin .22 question
That's good to know. My old Winchester always spun them stingers a foot right at 100 yards. I wondered if that had to do with the bbl length. I'ts been cut and re-crowned to 25-5/8. My original model 67 seemed to like stingers with it's 27-inch bbl, but since it had iron sights, I rarely shot it past 50 yards, and then usually at a big ol' jackrabbit.
