What is the best bullet to shoot out of a 7mag????
 

I went to the gun show to today ad brokedown and bought a Brand new remington 7mag and i never shoot onelways heard good things bout them and always won't ne but i need help in the Ammo selection?

It depends on what game you will hunt with it and what type of bullet you intend to use.For deer sized game 140gr or 150gr bullets work very well.They will also work well for moose elk and bear if you use a premium bullet such as a partition,barnes x,failsafe or grand slam.If you want to use cheaper bullets like factory corelokts or powerpoints you would be better off using heavier bullets such 160 gr bullets for elk,moose and bear.

I shoot Hornady Customs 139 gr. BTSP's. My gun seems to like 'em better than others that I've shot. 139 gr. is all you will ever need on Whitetails! Good luck with the new gun!

DREW THE NUT,
Here is a load I've used with good results. Nosler 150 grain Partition, 67.0 grains of H-4831SC, CCI #250. Overall length=3.315", Velocity=2950fps, Extreme spread=12.9fps, 100 yard three shot group=.141" Good results on deer and antelope. Hope that this helps.

DREW, IF YOU RELOAD YOU ARE WAY AHEAD OF THE GAME, I DO NOT. I USE A 165GR. FEDERAL PREM. SEIRRA BOAT TAIL FOR EVERYTHING. WHITETAIL, MULES, AND ONE ELK. SHOOTS FLAT AND HOLDS TIGHT ON PAPER(SUB MOA). I'VE PROBABLY SHOT FIFTEEN DEER WITH THIS ROUND AND IT IS NOT TOO LARGE. THERE ARE MANY CHOICES, JUST FIND ONE YOU AND YOUR GUN LIKE AND ENJOY.

I shoot the exact same as Frank (out of my .280...which is basically a 7mag with a little less powder) and they are an awesome bullet. My brother in law and anther friend shoot Hornady 154gr interlock and are real happy with them out of their 7mags. The Hornady bullets seem to perform very well all around.

I shoot 140 grain ballistic tips, IMR powder,and CCI primers.If you use factory ammo the hornady 139's are hard to beat.
