I'm considering a Bushnell Elite 4200 8x32 for a new 22-250. It can be had for not much more than the 6x24. I figure I should go with the higher magnification to give me the extra range, should I ever need it.
What do you folks have?

I find I like a variable power better on my guns . I have some fixed but seldom use them anymore . I use a 3.5 X14X 40 and 6X20X 50 for most of my shooting .

I have a Bushnell Banner 3x9x50 on mine. It seems so be a very good scope. Before I put that one on I had a 4x12X40 Banner on it. That was a very good scope as well. I sold that rifle with the scope on it otherwise I would have kept using it.

on the Savage is a BSA Contender 4x16x40, on the Howa is an Elite 5x15x50. I am satisfied with both, although I didn't buy the BSA, it was on the gun when I bought it. While it's nice to have a super high power scope sometimes the high magnifications really strain the eye.

I have a couple of really good Tasco's on mine. I have a fixed objective 4-12x40 on my .223 NEF and a 6-24 AO on my new Savage 22-250. I have a tasco on my .270 aas well. Never let me down with any of them!
