Default How many people carry a consealed weapon (gun)

My state Michigan has passed into law people can carry a gun. I have been thinking about a (CWP) for a coulpe of years now. I'm thinking about getting a Glock. How does anyone feel about (CWP) and about the Glock being a good weapon?

Thoughts?

States that have enacted CCW permits have seen a marked decrease in violent crimes on persons. States that refuse to enact such laws, and have very strict gun control legislation, continue to lead the country in violent crimes. Guess bad guys don't like having to guess whether or not a person may or may not have a gun on them.

I've had a permit for 8 years now (since Oklahoma first enacted it). Luckily, I've never needed to use it, but it is comforting to know it's there sometimes. Shootings are becoming a common place thing where I live now and I am comfortable knowing that I, at the very least, am on equal ground as the assailant except for the element of surprise.

I carry a Kimber Pro Elite .45 acp. I keep it loaded with 230 grain Winchester JHP's. Funny looking bullet. Has little notches around the hollow point and it's all black. Anyway, the gun is 100% reliable or I wouldn't carry it. I carry it Condition One meaning safety on, round in chamber, hammer back. (the only way to carry a 1911 or any of it's clones).

The Glocks are reliable firearms and should serve you well. They are a little wide across the slide and this can make them slightly more difficult to conceal, but it can be done. I like using a paddle holster. I often wind up going some place that guns aren't allowed and it's much easier to leave it in the car that way.

Good luck.

I have been carring most of my adult life.( and a lot of my youth)The glocks are good .I personally like the old 1911 and clones.Cocked and locked like the man said.Lately I have been carrying myModel 60 S&W in .357 Magnum.Easily concealable,I do not worry about the "Knockdown power" as every body thinks if it ain't a .45 it ain't got enough juice. This"Little 2 1/8" bbl. 5 shot will Keep the snakes off of your Arse.In a "Situation" I am not plannig on a long firefight( Close quarters and 1 shot)I do have 1 speed loader but doubt I would ever need it.Now let the flaming of the Swapdog begin.

Have carried legally since Texas enacted started issuing CHLs, and you don't need to know before that. I carry a Para-Ordnance P12, carry load is Pro-Load's 230 gr +P JHP. When I'm not carrying a gun, it is a Colt Mustang Pocketlite, with Cor-Bon's JHP. Mrs. Charley carries either a Makarov in 9x18, with Hornady's JHP, or a Kel-Tec in .32ACP, with Winchester Silvertips.
Some people are not willing to make the compromises in dress and behavior that carrying a weapon entails. It is an individual choice, not for everybody. Me? I carry every single day, whenever I leave the house.
Don't care for Glocks. Great weapons, just not my choice. They feel funny and look funny to me.

I am in such a habit of carrying.....it's in my pocket now, as it always is. I don't even give it a second thought.....concerning having it on me. I wear it like a pair of pants, undershorts, belt, etc. In otherwords......it is always there! There is little point in carrying.....if you are not willing to do it consistently!

I've been carrying since Florida enacted the CCW Permits back in 1987. Almost everywhere I go I have one on or within arms reach.I carry a couple of different guns, fast trip to the corner store a Beretta M-21 is in my pocket. I carry either a S&W M-649 or a Glock Model 27 which is my favorite carry gun.I think a Glock is hard to beat.
To me having a CCW is like having a cheap insurance policy. Cause you never know. When you least expect it you might have to confront a bad guy.I'm more then willing to oblige them.
