I have a 270 wsm and am wondering if any other bullet manufaturers will make shells for this and if so how will it work being labled a winchester short mag??

No matter what manufacturer makes the ammo they all have to manufacture the ammo to SAAMI specifications. Which are very strict. So you don't have to worry about it fitting in your gun.

Take the regular .270 Winchester. Everyone that makes ammo makes ammo for the .270 Winchester. It is all made the same size as all the rest.

Remington loads for the .270 WSM.

Is this new in 2004 for Remington to sell the 270 wsm? I have a number of catalogues and see only winchester selling in the Super-X and Supreme Premium.

I don't know when they started loading for the 270WSM but Sportsmans Warehouse in Denver has them. I was really surprised when I saw them. I first noticed they carried them sometime around Novemberish.

Remington does manufacture 270wsm ammo, I think its 130gr scirroco's. Hard to find. Federal is realy extending there shortmag loads this year for all the wsm's. A 270 winchester will not fit into a 270wsm chamber so dont worry about that. Just make sure the box says wsm on it. On a side nite Remington even chambers a rifle in 270wsm[&:] Congrats on the new gun.
