RE: remington model 760

I just happen to see this thread and it brought up a thought. I have a Rem. Model 760 in .308 Win I bought back in 1969 or so and it is in very good condition (1 small light scratch on cheek piece), I was just wondering what the approx. value on this gun would be (no scope, just rifle).
Thanx

I paid about $400. for my 06 with a scope, you are probably looking at 350v maybe 375, that is what I meant they are not too pricey for the working man..The scope on mine is 3x9 Simmons..

I was given one for my sixteenth birthday 26 years ago and took alot of deer. I have not used it in 15 years but has been loaned out to friends every year and has never failed.

The Remington 760 is a fine pump gun no doubt.I've had one for years in
30-06. I had the barrel cut down to about 17.5" which I regret now. It's great with that short barrel for brush and use on the 4 wheeler.I will say though the Remington 760's parts are getting scarce. I lost a part and contacted Remington. This model has been discontinued for some years and Remington does not stock parts for them. They will send you a list of Remington Obsolete Parts dealers that MIGHT have the part.I have an old gunsmith friend who happened to have what I needed to get it back in operation.I always wanted a 760 in 35 Whelen but never found one.Remington made a limited run of them.I can't speak for the Remington 7600 since I have no experience with them.

have any of the people who owned the 760/7600 owned a BPR ? they seemed to be very accurate and the pump was closer back for people with not that long arms.
if you can get one of these i would say go with them. unfortunatly they are discontinued.
