Depending on how many rounds have been sent thru it, thats a great price. Used, for a gun with about 100 to 200 rounds thru it, it is worth $440 dollars. The scope is worth $200 alone. Mounts are another 40 dollars. Here's how I value guns from aquaintances. If they take me to the range and let me shoot it, and it is a shooter, I will pay what they ask usually. This usually isn't the case. Since, if I find a shooter, I don't let go of it, period. If not a good shooter, I lower the price from there if I even still want it. If you are not comfortable with your shooting skills, then have him show you that it shoots well. For that gun, 1.5" groups are reasonable at 100 yards with good factory ammo.

RUTHUNTER, IF YOU REALY LIKE THE GUN, BUY IT. BUT DON'T BUY IT JUST BECUASE IT'S A GOOD DEAL. I BOUGHT A 270 ONCE BECUASE I LOVED THE RIFLE AND SCOPE AND THE DEAL. LATER TO REALIZE I STILL HATED A .270. AND THE GUN STAYED IN THE SAFE UNTIL MY WYFE STARTED HUNTING A FEW YEARS AGO.
