Think about how many AK variants some third world nation can put into the field at $50 each for that kind of money....

Plus, those HE rounds are heavy, carrying more than 20 would be a real chore.

Uhhh, Ill yake the $50 AK thank you. That looks nice and fancy but I bet the first time it gets banged around or dropped in the mud it has to be sent of to some depot for a rebuild.

Heck the current M-16s are alergic enough to dirt.

I think I would rather get dental care for my family and keep my P.O.S M16 than get a rifle that runs on batteries and costs that much.

Well, that's a cute toy. Hope it has a built-in expresso maker to so the troops will have somethign to do while waiting for the repairmen the first time it rains.
