Im having difficulty knowing what type of magazine to get in a rifle. What are the best types i.e box, internal box, blind?? What are some advantages and dissadvantages with the various types?
Cheers!!

Hey Norco,
I always owned box-type clips until now. This fall, I finally purchased a Remington 700 ADL that came with a "blind" clip and from my experience so far, it's just fine with me. With the blind clip there's no need to worry about losing your clip, although it takes an extra 10 seconds or so to load and unload. If I was buying a gun, I would not let the clip enter into the scenario at all. That would be like buying a car and worrying about whether the antenna is on the front right or the rear right of the vehicle... I'm not busting your chops at all- just trying to help you out.
Take care,
Jim

I have rifles with floorplates and rifles with detatchable magazines and both work fine.I have never lost a magazine. It would be just as easy to lose your ammo or hunting license as to lose a magazine. However,I have no use for a blind magazine. It is much slower and more awkward to load and unload the blind magazines because the ammunition must be loaded and unloaded through the action.

I've never lost a clip or even worried about it for that matter. My point was that the extra few seconds it takes to load or unload a blind magazine shouldn't even be considered when buying a new rifle, in my opinion.
