Boss System?
I have the boss system on my .300 winchester Mag. Do any of you have this, and what do you think of it? I love mine personally, and was just wondering if everone else felt the same?

RE: Boss System?
I found that it took more shots to optomize the boss settings than it takes me to develop a handload and accuracy with the boss is no better than with handloads.Boss equipped rifles also make less velocity due to a shorter barrel and they do come loose which changes the point of impact.I have owned one and will not own another.

RE: Boss System?
I really don't like it formost of the reasons StubbleJumper mentioned. Muzzle blast and noise are increased would be another reason as well as aesthetics. The only advantage is you can dial pretty much any quality factory load and get it to shoot more accurately out of your gun.

LUV THE BOSS-HATE THE NOISE. ALTHOUGH YOU SHOULD USE HEARING PROTECTION REGARDLESS

RE: Boss System?
BOSS is great. I have a 270 that will make one ragged hole at 100 yards with factory ammo. I have fired tons of different stuff through my gun and found factory Winchester to be the best. The Federal High energy losened the Boss so beware of this stuff. A loose boss is no good. My POI changed a foot when my boss was loose. So keep it tight. The Boss adds accuracy and reduces recoil. Yes the noice is bad but at the pit we all have hearing protection on and in the field I only make one shot. I would recomend it anyone!

RE: Boss System?
I have a BOSS on my 22-250 and when I was shooting factory rounds it was great. It really made a difference in group size.
When I started handloading I had the BOSS removed because it is too loud. |
