RE: Ruger 1 breech loader
Your no 1 rifle is modelled after the British Farquharson rifle. The number 1's are available in 3 or 4 models. Yours is the International model. The international is available in 243, 270, 30-06 and 7x57 mauser. No. 1's are available in all calibers from 22 hornet to 458 win mag. I currently have a stainless synthetic with a bull barrel in 22-250. Used to own the light sporter in 25-06, and a medium in 280. This in my opinion is a great gun a little heavy for long range, deep timber hunting, but a fine firearm. There are drop in aftermarket triggers available from Brownells or Midway USA if you are interested. Good luck with your new purchase.

RE: Ruger 1 breech loader
it is for sure heavy.i thought i might have a prob with no lever but has been just fine.what is the difference in the after market trigger and the factory one?

RE: Ruger 1 breech loader
The drop in triggers are fully adjustable. I had a Ruger NO 1 In 416 Rem Mag. I also had a Ruger No 3 in 45-70. Great guns. I am going to get one more before I quit buying guns. I just can't decide which caliber I want.

RE: Ruger 1 breech loader
what would you say is wrong with the factory trigger. i have a marlin 45.70 and have had lots done to it.new trigger, new lever, peep site, pistol break, and ss springs

RE: Ruger 1 breech loader
There is nothing wrong with the factory triggers they just break a little heavy. Personally I shoot better or more consistent groups when the trigger has been adjusted to a lighter, smoother pull.
