RE: Why are some calibers more accurate?
In most of the hunting I've done, I've been in trees and brush. So, the most important consideration for accuracy there is heavier and faster is more accurate because it's got to make it through and not get deflected.

And I thought that everyone had finally realized that the brush busting bullet theory was just a myth.

An experienced shooter such as myself aims the rifle up at almost a 90 degree angle (depending on the distance of the animal) and drops the bullet straight down on the target thus avoiding the brush altogether. :D;)
