I' m also looking to buy a new muzzle loader. I currently shoot a traditions in-line but want something with a closed breech. T/C omega or maybe a nef huntsman. I wonder if anyone has experience with the huntsman?

I have had a bunch of them. The only ones that really stick with me is my knights and T/C' s. I am not much on the Black Diamond however. I have had a Knight stainless Wolverine since 1996 and its a great accurate gun. I say stay away from Traditions and CVA. I have had one rifle and now got a inline pistol that I have had trouble with, and the customer service is horrible. Look into the Wolverine 209..

I picked up an el cheapo a couple of months back, it' s a Rossi, made in brazil. it breaks open like the NEF' s paid 150.00 for it. put a good scope on it. can' t believe how good it shoots. I' ve got lots left for supplies.

Go to H&R TALK. There is a whole forum on the Huntsman. You can' t beat the Black Diamond from TC Mine groups 2 inches at 100 yards all day everyday.

I would stick with Thompson Center or Knight. I used to own a CVA that served me well for three years. I sold that and got a T/C Encore 209 Magnum and love it! I will keep this gun as long as I hunt. It fits me well and shoot like a dream.

CVA has been great for me,I own the firebolt in nickle plate and mossyoak .It shoot so straight that I hold a 1 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards. And they are cheap enough that it won' t hurt the pocketbook.

I' m with you bayonets. The wife bought me a CVA Hunter Mag Bolt for X-mas last year. Shoots great, makes a nice tight clover leaf pattern at 100 yds. Took a doe at 150 yds. dropped on the spot. I shot my buddies T/C Omega and it wasn' t anymore accurate than my CVA. He paid three times more.
