Remington recall
Well, it's started.I hear Remington has started a recall on the 710, faulty safety switch, the switch may not go back to the safe position[:o].Supposedly this only effected a relatively small number of guns, but if I owned one, I'd contact Rem. ASAP. I wonder how long it'll be before they recall the 11-87

RE: Remington recall
What really needs to be recalled is Remington Management.

RE: Remington recall
I am frankly shocked that the 710 is being recalled. I don't live too far from Remington Hdqtrs and have never heard a good thing coming from the mouth of any of their employees . I think they were/are run by a bunch of cost accountants which will spell the doom of any company . I do think they are trying to change perceptions of themselves as well as overall quality but it is easier to build the darn thing right the first time then come in and perform damage control.

RE: Remington recall
The Remington recall on the 710 actually started last year sometime. If you own one of these guns(which I do) you can go to Remington's website and there's a place to enter you serial number and it will let you know if your gun's affected by the recall. I bought mine late last year and it cam back as not affected. Little sister has one too and hers came back ok too. It looks llike it just affects some of the early runs of it. I'll keep shooting mine until the ugly thing falls apart. It aint worth anything to anybody but me, so why not keep using it.

RE: Remington recall
Hmm, Remington, quality, do I hear an oxymoron. I have two Remington guns one an 870 express which won't eject low brass, so I'll have to have the chamber polished and a 700 ADL in 257 Rob. while I really have no complaints about the ADL, would it have broke them to install a floorplate instead of a blind mag. Now on the other hand I have not really bought any of their top of the line products so....

RE: Remington recall
Tchicken.....if you wanted a Remington 700 with a floor plate you could have just bought one...it's called the BDL and the classic......if your ADL has no floorplate you can't blame Remington....it was your choise.....

RE: Remington recall
I agree I own a 700 ADL. The lack of a floorplate does not bother me that much but my next rifle did have one a little easier of unload. PS the lack of floorplate makes action a little stronger. My 243 ADL will shoot any factory ammo 100 gr. at less than 1moa.
