Cammo finish for varmit rifle???
Cabelas has the camo sock, camo tape and camo "snake skins". Does anyone have experience with these products. I am worried about rust forming under the camo. Is this a problem? Thanks in advance..

RE: Cammo finish for varmit rifle???
In structions for most of that stuff is that you coat your gun in WD40. I tried using covers of one kind or another, finally got fed up and got paint. My coyote rifle isnl't a collector item, so who cares. Used satin oil base paint, then got clear matte to cover what shine there was.

Camo tape can leave alot of glue behind. I stripped and spray painted mine. Topped with two cans of clearcoat for durability and one can of dullcoat to take off the shine.

Steve, I've got a buddy in Clear Brook, VA which is near Winchester. He takes em to a gunsmith somewhere in that area and has em camoed for $25. They're beautiful when finished.

I went to a model/train store I saw an airbrush paint kit. This could be used to give you more detail if you decide to paint it. Try it on a childs toy gun first. If it works well try it on your rifle.

I use the camo tape.It works well, has a good feel, and looks good. But it is a royal pain to get the glue off.Gun scrubber worked the best for me.I put it on my deer rifle every year. Then I swear that I wont do it again ,But do it any way.Go figgure.
