T/C Encore high powered deer pistol
 
Well i have T/C encore and getting ready to buya 15" SS brl for deer hunting, but not sure which Cal. to buy just looking for suggestions also if anyone has shot some of the high powered center fire rounds in this gun ex. 308 , 30-06 or some of the others offered i would like to know how bad they kick, are they controllable? thanks in advanced for any help.

I'm a newbie to this site, so its nice to unofficially meet you guys and gals. And as you can see by my username, I'm into T/C's. I've shot all of the available factory barrels for the Encore pistol and to answer your question about the recoil of some of the bigger calibers, yes three of them will certainly get your attention!lol The .444 and .450 Marlins and the 30-06 with heavier loads.. I suggest you get the "muzzle-tamer" if you decide to go with either of these three. Now as to which one I'd suggest, I'd go with the 7MM-08 for deer. I have a hunting buddy that shoots the 7MM-08 out of his encore and is very pleased with the accuracy, the growing availability of factory ammo and pretty much the all-around performance of it. I hope this helps you out a little.

I have shot a lot of them. My favorite for hunting was the 35 Remington.

I shoot a 15" 7mm-08 and it is accurate...;)
