RE: 8X57 Remington.
It had to have been in Guns&Ammo. I have a long standing subscription to Shooting Times and I don't recall seeing anything about it in ST. I went to the Remington site and couldn't find anything there. They did have a poll set up where you could vote.

RE: 8X57 Remington.
There was a write-up on the 8x57 Mauser some time ago but I don't think it was talking about it in the context being the new Classic chambering. It was just an information article of the pro's and con's, etc. I don't have time to go through them right now to see.

RE: 8X57 Remington.
i have one in a CZ VZ24 fine caliber. unfortunatly it is rather expensive to shoot.
off the record i would rather see the gun chambered in the 35rem this year instead |
RE: 8X57 Remington.
Quilly! you missed that one it was the classic for 1988. A few more past ones are 8MM Rem Mag 300 H&H, 375 H&H 350 Mag, 264 Win Mag 220 Swift and 6MM Remington. From 78 to 85 they chambered it in 22-250, 243, 6mm,7mm Mag 270 and 30-06. From 81 to present they just selected one caliber each year I started out collecting them but ran on to hard time and had to sell most of them. My wife latched on to the 250-3000 though and it ain't going anywhere. She told me if she ever goes to the cabnet to get it, it better be there.:)
