RE: .257 Weatherby Magnum
I have a Mark V Sporter in .257 Wby Mag that shoots great groups with some cheap Remington Ammo that I bought from Cheaperthandirt.com for $15/box. It shoots sub 1" groups without any difficulty and I have killed two very nice bucks in Kansas with it the last couple of years. That's with a Simmons scope and I haven't done a thing to the gun.

Your suspicions were right-It is offered in a 24in Barrel. May just have Virgin Valley make me one in 26in for my Encore. Take care Encore28 |

RE: .257 Weatherby Magnum
stubblejumper,
I bought it from cheaperthandirt.com about a year ago. I bought a whole case of it at $15/box. It's loaded with a 122gr "Extended Range" bullet...looks like a boattail to me, but I haven't pulled one to see. I called Remington to inquire about some ballistics data and they even had to ask around about it. It turns out it was a test run of ammo they made in 1996, I think. They didn't continue manufacturing it beyond that. I bought it mainly for the brass, but it shoots darn well out of my gun! I've killed several deer with them! clattin |
