You have to choose ONE gun...

A recent conversation in this forum made me think. (no easy task)<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

If your house was burning, all your firearms were in it, and for some reason you could only save one long gun and/or one handgun, what would it be?

I recently read a post from a couple of guys who knew exactly what they would choose, and it occured to me that it's something we should all know about ourselves and our guns.

Share details:
-caliber
-make
-model
-action type
-barrel length
-and most importantly &quot;WHY?&quot;

Would your pick be for hunting, defense, a gun that could do both? Would it be a family heirloom, or an expensive custom built special gun?

Keep 'em all in the Bull.

Not going to go into the intimate details about my guns, but if I had to choose one it would be my 12 gauge pump. The reason is I can take anything from small game to big game with it and I can use it effectively for home defense.

I keep my guns in either a fire proof gun safe, or an aluminum gun case for just this reason, so they'll either survive the fire, or I can grab the Aluminum and take out 6 with me. If I could only take one, I'd take either my Ruger markII m77.30-06, my baby, or my most recent buy for my girlfriend, an 1894 German made Mexican mauser, it's 108 years old, so I couldn't let her burn.
