Hornady Reloading manual and some tables

Just bought the sixth edition of the Hornady manual and looked up some reloading data for the old 7 mm Rem mag....139 grain bullet ...max load is 3200 fps and this is out of a Remington 700 ...looked at the max load for same bullet coming out of a model 7 7 SAUM and it was 3200 .... What do you expert long magnum reloaders make of it?

I beleive the velocities could match with lighter bulets, but not with the heaver ones because bullet case intrusion is greater with the Rem. Model 7mm SAUM than the Rem. Model 700 7mm Rem. Mag. Good luck.

Hornady' s manuals are severely scrutinized prior to publishing. If there' s a publication I' d believe, that' s one!!!!!

RE: Hornady Reloading manual and some tables

I will be chronographing some loads out of it this weekend with the same weight 139 grain SST that the manual is listing along with corresponding max load.... It seems that the SAUM generates the same velocities... something I was told by others here couldn' t happen that it was a marketing ploy put on by the various companies
