I had one and I rebarreled it to .257 Roberts.

It' s a great carbine.....Recoil is a bit much however due to the lightness of the gun.

Don' t be afraid to use it.....it' s a fine deer rifle and a fine cartridge.....

cool
i actually got to shoot it today and i didnt think the recoil was too bad....seemed alot worse when i was younger but im starting to get a feel for the gun....it has killed many deer in the past so i guess its a good gun...

btw im using 150 cartridges cuz ive heard bad things about 180....i think law enforcement uses 165 for sniper applications....will 150 suffice? im guessing so.

I agree with Otis, use the 150 grain bullets, but there' s absolutely nothing wrong with the 165 or 180 either.

The 165 is a legitimate hunting bullet and not a special sniper bullet and you' ll hear bad things about anything if you live long enough...all these bullets are fine for deer.....however, I' d personally pick the 150 Gr. for your gun.
