Best Deer huntin gun

After eight years of careful thought. much research and hours of looking at these posts at work. I have decided that the best Deer huntin gun is...
Non-existant. No one gun is right for everyone.

You are right! I' d say pick any caliber from .24 on up and with good hunting bullets, one is about as good as the next!

Welcome heyca to the forum,There might not be the perfect deer rifle .But what in life is perfect? You just need to find one in a decent caliber that fits you well and you' re able to shoot well.If the perfect rifle is ever made it will take the fun out of buying and trading. With that being said I hope they never make a perfect deer rifle.

As long as there are so very many environments to hunt deer in there will never be a " perfect deer rifle" .....The well decked out deer hunter probably has at least three deer rifles......and wants several more.....

We can' t have the perfect deer rifle in illinois. We have to find the perfect muzzleloader -handgun or slug gun. Oh I forgot about my bow! I would like to try a rifle sometime but will have to go out of state. Our rifles are varmit calibers mostly.

Come on guys, I can tell you what the perfect deer rifle is, it' s the one I want to buy right now, that my wife doesn' t think I need.

After I get it though, it won' t be the perfect one anymore. It will be the one I want to buy after that:D:D:D

One gun for all. I, haven' t found and don' t want to find " one perfect gun" for me. I like to maintain an ever growing selection.

Is there such a thing as having to many? That would be like having to much fun or to much money.

I live up here in maine with lots of heavy cover. The .30-30 is perfect. There is no shot that you will get that you will need anything else.

I only have one gun for deer hunting so it has to be my perfect deer hunting gun.

If there is a perfect deer rifle, I have had it already. I may still have it. If not, I will have it soon.:D. Seriously I have had, and tried for deer, almost every caiber from 22 Hornet to 416 Rem Mag. Thats the main reason that I got into gun sales for about 15 years. I could order in and try out many guns and then sell them as used guns and recoup quite a bit of my cost. I also took in a lot of guns on trade and tried out most of them. I lost all track of how many deer I have taken over the years but I took more with a 308 and a 6.5x55 than any others by far. They are both perfect deer rifles. Right behind them is the 250 Savage and 30-06 then 280. If I had to give them all up but one though, I don' t think I could part with my 257 Roberts
