Activ Ammunition

Anyone have information on them as far as performance? Also, I know that they are no longer in the US, does anyone know where I can find dealers who may have some left over?

Alas...., Activ slugs..., gone but not forgotten. I used them many times to harvest deer in Delaware. They worked great. I suggest you try the Lightfields. About as close to Activ' s as you' ll find.
Good Luck

Phade...

As I have no help for you, I do know that Activ ammo is incredible. I have used their shotshells and slugs for years, and know that they are superior to anything I have previously tried.

Sorry I cannot provide any useful info for you.

How ironic was this! Our NY opener was monday. I had my last couple Activ slugs in, and shot a doe. I reloaded with Lightfields that I had just bought the night before, and shot another doe. Too funny! If anyone can find some Id greatlt appreciate it.

They only carry buckshot. I cannot shoot it in NY. Thank you anyways.

The only Activ ammo I' ve ever seen was all plastic shotgun whells, almost everyone that was fired experienced a hull failure, from " head separation" to wall failures, miss fires, mouth shreading, etc....it was just all around crap...I don' t know why you' d seek it out?

Nomercy I used to shoot Activ all the time and never once had any kind of problem with it . What you described sounds more like the gun than the ammo .

I agree with halcon. I have shot a ton of Activ and never once had a problem. The 20 guage #6 was my favorite load, shot over a case of that with no problems. Sure wish Kent would come out with an Activ line.

I would have agreed with you guys that it was the gun, but it happened in three different guns all at the same time, maybe we got a bad batch or something, a buddy bought a case for us to use during a day at the range, we experienced really inconsistant failures (i.e. one round would split the hull, the next' s head would separate, the next would shred it' s mouth, the next would misfire, the next would hangfire-it wasn' t consistant for each gun even), it happened in my SxS, a buddies O/U, and another buddies pump-which was more problematic...we ran about a box through and MAYBE got 4rnds that didn' t fail. in fact, those were the only hangfires I' ve ever seen.
