leupold or burris scope rings??

i called this gun shop yesterday just to see if they had the low 1" leupold scope rings in stock before i went over there this weekend to mount my leupold vx-II 3-9x40 and the guy said " yeah we got em, but burris' are better" . i mean, i didnt even ask. is there any truth to this? why are they better or are leupold' s just fine or better?? thanks.

RE: leupold or burris scope rings??

I' ve used Burris z-rings before and they were good rings. Every rifle i currently own has Leupold base and rings on them and i have no complaints. If you had Leupold in mind then thats what i would get. It could be a toss of a coin decision as i really don' t think one is any better than the other.

All I use is Loopy rings/bases. That being said their are a few good quality mounting solutions out there and Burris is one of them! I agree buy what you want, its just one mans opinion and I honestly haven' t heard somebady say " Damn I hate my loopy mounts!"
