7MM 08 ???
What are your thoughts on this caliber?
I found a good price and was considering purchasing it. I have a 270, 7mm mag, and a 308. Am I waisting my time and money? |
RE: 7MM 08 ???
Buy it.

RE: 7MM 08 ???
well u already own a 308win and a 7mm mag. what about a 257roberts or 25-06rem?
|
RE: 7MM 08 ???
You already have three rifles in basically the same category of rifles. Why add another one. None of the three rifles that you already have will do anything that the others can' t do and neither will the 7mm-08.
Personally I would look for a .223, 22-250 for a varmint rifle or go the other way and look for smething along the lines of a .338 or a big bore lever action like a .444 Marlin, 45-70 or 450 MArlin. Spread them out a little. |
RE: 7MM 08 ???
another gun means more fun:)

RE: 7MM 08 ???
If you have kids that will be shooting someday or plan on having kids then you absolutely must have a 7mm-08 Rem. That is the excuse I always use anyways and it seems to work so far.

RE: 7MM 08 ???
Buy the 7mm-08 and sell the rest.

RE: 7MM 08 ???
Sell the .270 and .308.
Buy the 7mm-08 and a 22-250. |
RE: 7MM 08 ???
I would never sell any gun unless I somehow obtained a duplicate.
I do have a son whom will hunt in the future. I have the following rifle collection: 22LR, 22 mag, 223, 270, 7 mm mag, 308 sako (love it), 30.06, 300 wby mag, 35 rem, 50 cal in-line, 54 cal flintlock. Where do I go from here? I heard great things about the 7mm 08 but feel that the caliber is covered somewhere in my collection. Someone mentioned to go beyond the 30' s . Was considering the 35 whelen or a 338. What about a 30-338? Please help! |
RE: 7MM 08 ???
I would buy it,whats one more gun to add to your collection...:D
|
RE: 7MM 08 ???
I hear the 7mm08 is wicked accurate but you have that size covered. I' d look for a .223 its cheap, accurate and wicked fun.

RE: 7MM 08 ???
If you have a son that will be hunting and enhearting your collection and you can get it for a good reason i see no point not to get something that will probly worth the same amount if not more down the road in case of any finacial burden. This is one excuse i use when i decide on buying guns close to what i have already. |
RE: 7MM 08 ???
If the price is right buy it you can always resell it if you don' t like it . Thats how I got most of my firearms buying and selling . I started doing this when I was just a kid and have more or less paid for all my guns that way . If you see a deal buy it .

RE: 7MM 08 ???
Of course the bottom line is that the 7mm-08 Rem is the best thing since sliced bread.:D Seriously though it is a fine shooting, hard hitting, light recoiling cartridge. I have one but I picked up a 270 Win because I am sure I will lose my 7mm-08 to my daughter if my wife doesn' t decide its hers first. Anyone got a 260 Rem to give away?[&:]
