its a Robert vestal smithed rem. 700 LH, trued receiver, Broughton 5c 9.3 twist 31" heavy varmint barrel chambered 338 edge, jewel trigger, one of Roberts brakes, have a NF 5.5x22 NXS to sit on top, still debating on a chassis or a stock. it will run a Berger 300 gr hybrid just under 3000 fps.

That should be enough gun for a WV whitetail.

RR just out of curiosity what will the energy for that round out there at 1800 yards? I'm planning on not pushing my rifle over only 800 yards, 600 is even better. But I only have a 6.5 CM. But if I start having too much fun with that rifle, I may end up getting something with more OOMPH!
And one southpaw to another - good luck!

sounds like a nice long range gun there
I have played in the 1800+ yard game a long time
me and a few buddies started doing so back in the early 90's, after shooting a lot of 1,000 yard matches!
e all got caught up in stretching things to see how far we could go!
its like most hobbies, it gets addicting and well, costly; to a point! as seemed me and buddies were always trying to one up each other and or just as new things came about
I went thru a lot of scopes and rifles over the yrs!

and things sure came a long way since them on options for builds!

I don;'t shoot far that often anymore, getting too hard to find good places to shoot here, too many places got developed!

just under 1100 ft/lbs at 1800 yards, thats why I chose the chambering, to retain over 1k ft/lbs at around 1 mile

You've been chasing that for a long time. I'm glad to see it's coming together and looking forward to seeing the results.
