Default 22-250 AR! New build!

I love how my new AR build came out! Don't see many 22-250 AR so I had to do it. I will be doing predator hunting, hogs, and deer hunting with it. I live in Florida, this will be enough firepower for all 3. I can't wait to get the Pulsar on and hit the range.

Sweet...All the stuff for my new build is setting up in PA at my friend's house. I won't get to assemble it until I get back there in late May. I have it chambered in 350 Legend.

Sweet. Everything for my build is sitting up in PA waiting for me to get back in late May. Chambered in 350 Legend. Only I refuse to pay the fees nor the cost for a supressor.

You'll be able to use that in Ohio Clem.

Since you usually tag your buck in PA archery, you could bring that out for gun season.

while I really love the rifle ,its darn impressive and should be lots of fun,
and I'm certain many of us will be in a hurry to know where to buy the required components and hear about the cost and build process,to build a clone,

yes Id love to own something similar,as a varmit rifle youve built nearly the ideal combo.
personally Id feel there are better options for hunting deer
I've seen enough hogs and deer killed very effectively with proper 223 loads,
to know that significantly more powerful and flatter trajectory 22-250 is not going to be a huge leap in lethality,
any 22 caliber has projectile weight limits it will deal with,
and while its certainly a big leap in range and power ,if your shooting coyotes and bobcats
and 62 grain-75 grain 22 caliber projectile is very lethal,
if your going to basically build a 308 win size AR10, for hunting larger game,
I would have probably gone with a 257 roberts, 358 win, , 6mm rem,, 7mm08 ,308 win or 6.5mm in several variations,
if the goal was primarily a deer rifle that you could use on varmits

Hardcast, Florida deer are very very small. With the right bullet a .22-250 would be on the small side but properly placed would be plenty to drop an average Florida buck. While I wouldn't recommend it myself, it should be okay for Florida but not really anywhere else. My old man used to crack me up saying he has had dogs bigger than the biggest Florida buck ever taken.

hunters_life..
you do notice I live in FLORIDA ALSO?
as previously posted
I have several hunting buddies that have both bolt action rifles and AR15 clones of various types here in Florida,
and admittedly Florida deer tend to be smaller than most, Ive even hand loaded for several of these guys,
currently, the prefered load most are requesting and using,

No I didn't notice. That small stuff under names is beyond my eye's ability. While you say the .223 is better than the .22-250, I am trying to figure out why? Considering you can load up both cartridges with the same bullet and get 10-15 percent more velocity and around 15-20 percent more foot-pounds of energy. Now where the .223 has a small advantage, which is fairly easy to overcome, is that they are generally a 1:9 twist where the .22-250 is generally 1:10 so most factory .22-250 barrels limit out at around 55grain bullet weight. You get a 1:9 or even a 1:8 twist .22-250 barrel made an go load up some 62gr TTSX in it and do a side by side comparison to the .223 and watch the .223 get smoked. I have several .22-250's including 2 customs of my own and 2 from my dad's collection. I'll put them up against any .223 on the planet.

I NEVER suggested the 223 was better ,
, just pointed out that in skilled hands it does work reasonably well,
and the AR10 platform allows several options that the AR15 might not,
I think its a darn nice varmint rifle and it should be fantastic on coyotes,
and bob cats etc. on small game, like coyotes, its ideal.
as stated earlier Id love to own or build a clone,
and yes a 223 ar15,is fully proven to work on hogs and deer at reasonable ranges with correct ammo being used.
what Id tried to point out is that the AR10 basic format has other options that might be better on larger game like deer.
the 22-250 is a great varmint rifle with a flat trajectory and yes more punch than a 223 rem,
but a larger bore and heavier projectile does have benefits on deer size game
the gentleman built a great varmint rifle , in fact a very impressive one!
its just not as versatile as something in 6MM, 6.5MM, 7mm or maybe 30 cal for deer hunting
