Just bought a Remington rifled slug barrel for my model 1100. Which brand of sabot slug works for you in your 1100?

Remington Buck Hammer. But, I believe they are no longer in production.

I switched to a muzzle loader to reduce felt recoil on my poor shoulder

Can't answer for the 1100 but when I used a slug gun I found the best accuracy was the Win that was a 50 caliber bullet in a sabot. Untracked a lot of whitetails with those.

I shoot an Remington 870 20 gauge with a rifled barrel and have always used the Winchester BRI slugs with it.
They have an hour glass shape.
The 20 gauge BRI starts out as .40 caliber,
When I recovered a slug that traveled almost full length diagonally on a quartering shot. it expanded to about .64 caliber, which is about 33% expansion.
They also shoot great in an H&R heavy barrel 20 ga. slug gun which is known for accuracy.
Winchester teamed up with the independent BRI a long time ago and then may have bought them out because their slugs were that good.

I can only imagine how well the heavier 12 ga. slugs would perform.

Ive used the BRI slugs in the past when I could find them for sale.
the result depends a great deal on your rifling twist rate,
if your shotgun stabilizes them they work great,
many shotguns Ive seen, especially the guys using a smooth bore and rifled choke,
won,t keep them stable past 70 yards or so

Coming from more of a muzzleloading back ground i really prefer to keep actual bullet caliber as close as possible to bore caliber. Thicker sabots are problematic. Years ago Remington offered a slug using their 50cal 385gr bonded CLHP bullet at 1900 fps. I never shot that slug but i did shoot than bullet in a modern inline 54cal at over 1800fps. That bullet was plain nasty.

I'm going to throw this out there, yrs back I hunted a lot in a few states that were shotgun only seasons
and I spent some money having a custom built slug gun
and after a LOT of trying, the cheapest plain jane rem OLD school slugs ended up shooting the most accurate
like super cheap slugs
I killed a bunch of deer with em too
so All I am going to say is, EVERY gun will like what it likes, so best advice is BUY some and try them and see what YOUR gun shoots the best and don;t get caught up in marketing hype of the latest and greatest most costly ammo out there! some times the older stuff works just as well or better!
my rem 11/87 shoots several brands the same , but seems to like WIN sabots the best but forget exact load, been a few yrs since I shot it
but its many time about trying different brands till you find the one your GUN likes best!
