Missed out on a good one

Well, I came across a Savage 99 in .375 Winchester.

I wasn't really looking for one... But, it would be Ohio legal for deer (no bottle neck cartridges...) and I like the 99s. I put a few bids on it over the course of the auction but it ended up going a little higher than I was willing to spend.

Today I find myself looking for another.... What is it about loseing an auction that makes you want the item even more??

The thing all successful people have, ego, it is quite the motivator.

when I bought mine many years ago the guy had 3, a 375, a 358 and a 7mm/08, he wanted 400 each, I bought the 7mm because I had had good experiences with that chambering and wasn't hindered by caliber/chambering restrictions.

My .300sav sees limited use. It's not drilled for scope mounts, and I don't want to drill it. So it's mostly carried when I'm hunting for doe. Also, not legal in Ohio which is about half of my hunting time.

A .375 would be a nice addition if I ever find one within my price range.
