Missed out on a good one
Well, I came across a Savage 99 in .375 Winchester.
I wasn't really looking for one... But, it would be Ohio legal for deer (no bottle neck cartridges...) and I like the 99s. I put a few bids on it over the course of the auction but it ended up going a little higher than I was willing to spend. Today I find myself looking for another.... What is it about loseing an auction that makes you want the item even more?? -Jake |
The thing all successful people have, ego, it is quite the motivator.

when I bought mine many years ago the guy had 3, a 375, a 358 and a 7mm/08, he wanted 400 each, I bought the 7mm because I had had good experiences with that chambering and wasn't hindered by caliber/chambering restrictions.

My .300sav sees limited use. It's not drilled for scope mounts, and I don't want to drill it. So it's mostly carried when I'm hunting for doe. Also, not legal in Ohio which is about half of my hunting time.
A .375 would be a nice addition if I ever find one within my price range. -Jake |
Good Savage 99's are only get more expensive with time!
