I bought a new in rifle! It's a Remington 700 CDL SF in 257 Weatherby! It will be topped with a Leupold 4-12x50 VXR. I will be picking it up Friday, but I wanted to see if anybody has this rifle and what they think. I know every rifle is different but any load information will be nice. I've done my research already, just trying a little shortcut. I sold my old Vanguard, which is the same caliber. So I'm not new to the round. Just time for a upgrade. Can't wait to break her in and start hunting!

No load advice here either, as I am not a reloader.
However, great magnum cartridges, and rifles !!!

Nosler is kinda like a modern Weatherby (with cartridges & rifles as well).

I think you did good with your optics also.
Which bases and rings did you go with ?

I was thinking really hard about having my late father's 7mm Mag rebarreled to 257 Wby since I already have a 7mm Mag. Decided not to because I can load the 7mm with a 139 gr Hornady and get virtually the same performance. So I'm going to give my father's old rifle (it was made in 1963) to my nephew with the stipulation that he has to shoot at least one deer with it before he thinks about retiring it.
