I'd go with the American Whitetail with the Interlock bullet. Hollowpoints tend to seriously damage a LOT of meat in close range shots from fairly fast rounds such as the .308. I load the interlock in many of my cartridges and have yet to have bullet failure. Most of my rifles tend to group well with them also.

I agree with SH54. The good old Hornady Interlock has been around a long time. They've been killing game long before premium bullet came out.

Use the American Hunter line, with the Interlock bullet. The 155 BTHP (aka OTM) isn't a proper deer hunting bullet. They have the AMP jackets, which are very thin, with no taper, such they're really not a good hunting bullet for midsized game. Wanna blow up colony varmints? Sure, wanna make big splashes on bottles of water, sure. Want to kill deer? No - get the Interlocks loaded in the American Hunter line.

Definitely use the Interlock bullet in the American Whitetail line.
