Default Remington 700 recall

I won a Remington Model 700 at a Whitetails Unlimited banquet last year. When I took it in after a year of it sitting in the box to get a scope mounted on it, I was disappointed to hear about the recall in place on all Model 700 rifles. So, I left it home and finally got around to sending it in. I was directed to a website Remington has to handle the recall issues, typed in my info and as described they sent me a shipping box and a UPS label. So finally on December 1st, off it went.

Imagine my surprise that I got it back today, complete with a trigger mechanism update! I was hearing 12 weeks for turnaround time and mine was back in a week and a half.

So if you have a 700 that you haven't had "fixed" yet, it looks like if you do it now you'll have your gun back pretty quickly.

I assume you need to remove scope/rings to send in right?
