Selling guns, best way?
 

Local pawn and gun shop offers 30 cents on the dollar for guns so looking for a way to unload a few guns without giving them away. I will keep the 3 better guns but some of the other stuff is not very valuable nor do i have room or a need for some of it.

I am signed up on gunbroker or gunsamerica, actually bought a gun on there but never sold. Is that the best place for me to get rid of a few guns and just let them run a non reserved auction, ship too ffl or is there a better way?

Might talk to a local shop about consignment selling. They'll take a rip on the sales, but usually a shop can drive a higher price and a faster sale than private sellers, so I've generally experienced that I can get as much in my pocket selling on consignment and paying their "commission" as if I would have sold it outright via private transfer. I don't do that often, but when I'm too lazy to market something myself, it works.

Definitely need to go peruse a Big Book of Gun Values and research comps on gunbroker, gunsamerica, and armslist before you decide what they're worth and how to sell them. Auctions usually work themselves out for price if you set too low of number on an item, thinking it's old and low value when it's actually semi-collectible or desirable, but that's not always the case.

Armslist might not be a bad solution. It lets you set price as well as negotiate with buyers, and you can sell locally if you don't want to worry about shipping.

Nomercy, ive been travelling. Thank you very much. Didnt consider the consignment option. Im virtually certain none of these guns are of value but i dont need or have room for them, have too many already, ifmthere is such a thing

NOT!!! They do guns. they stopped that years ago. Guns America or Gun broker are good ways. I sold a handgun a couple of years ago and it worked nicely.

What about Armslist?

when you sell via arms list etc. how do you get the gun to the buyer?

Ship it to an FFL unless the buyer is in your state and you can do a face to face deal.
