.280 Rem wouldn't be bad, I would do a .270 Win before it tho. Just because I have hundreds of rounds of ammo, dies, bullets and a .280 isn't a big enough leap above a .270 for me.

I'm thinking hard on the 22-6mm, my nephew would have the coolest gun out of his buddies in 8 years when it's time for his license.

Personally I'd go with a .280 AI or .280 JRS, a 30 Gibbs, or a 35 Whelen AI, in that order. Not knowing what critters YOU are going to hunt or what distances you're going to be shooting, I just listed ideas I'd like. Your mileage may vary.

I have a Wilson .22 cal 1/8 twist I can use so that's why I'm thinking .22 something now. A 22-284 with a 90gr Berger at 3600 could be pretty awesome...

Builds and .280's seem to go together. Maybe that's just me though.
