Brasso

I have some rifle cartridges that are scratched up a lil bit and pretty dull lookin. Just wondering if I put a little brasso on a rag and wiped them down and wiped the brasso off of them if it would create safety issues with shootin them. They are older Remington 30-30 shells. Thanks

get a white scotch brite pad, polish them with it, brasso is corrosive if you do not remove every bit of it. I have a vibrating case polisher, and for small batches I still use scotch brite, chuck a tapered wooden dowel in a cordless drill, stick the dowel in the case mouth, wrap the pad around it, run it 20 seconds....your done.

Steel wool is what i have alot off,so i just use it.
Stay away from the Brasso.

Years ago, we were told NOT use Brasso on rifle brass as it eats away a little of the brass!

Try toothpaste. A little bit of toothpaste on a damp rag will do wonders on brass. Very little chance of damage.

Scratched loaded ammo that will chamber in the rifle will still kill the pretty brass only impresses the hunter.

I was told years ago that Brasso makes rifle brass brittle, I don't know if it is true or not.
