Savage Axis scope mount question
 

Traded my 243 for a savage axis youth model 7mm-08 the other day and went to bass pro shops to get a set of DNZ scope mounts for it today and all I seen was mounts that said savage all round reciever long action. Didn't buy them figured id ask on here if anybody knew. Only guy workin there today must have been knew or just didn't care cause I asked him and all I got was a "don't know". Thanks in advance yall

I'm sure DNZ makes a mount for it but you have a short action & the one you looked at will NOT work.

I know 7mm-08 is a short action cartridge but every savage axis I've seen or heard of uses a long action receiver.

The Savage Axis is an action all its own .I checked the DNZ site and they do make one for the Axis.

Thanks. Thought about gettin a 1 piece rail that weaver makes but I think ill spend a lil extra and get DNZ. Always liked their products.
