What bullet are you pitching from the 22-243? My gut tells me to be itchy about a 1,000yrd coyote, let alone 1,500yrd coyote, with a 22cal, no matter what the speed. I'm sure it can be done, especially if you're looking at heavy for cal projectiles 75-90grn ballpark, but I'd sure be looking for a bit more bullet weight to do the job on the back end.

I've always wished that VHA site would link the submission pics and some details about the rigs, rounds, and shots to the names in the long range clubs. If you missed the issue, you missed the details.
90gr Berger VLD. I'd like to find some of the 100gr Wildcats that were around for a while.

So something around 450-500ft.lbs. at 1,000? Like I said, it makes me itchy thinking about a 22cal coyote at 1,000, but it's got a lot more going for it than the 223rem's and 22-250's I usually throw after them.

A yote is the biggest critter. Most likely it'll be rock chucks or prairie dogs. Pretty hard to get a yote to stand still long enough for a 1000 yard shot.

Energy with the 90gr VLD outta a 22/243 ack is about 730lbs at 1000.

I just joined the 500 yard club. Not much help for you! post about it when you do though.
