Default for once I am stumped on defense

Ok ill try to keep this short. Recently we relocated to west memphis Arkansas from the rockys in colorado. NOT MY IDEA. my dad bought an auto repair shop. Well we had to fire an employee we caught involved in drugs and such. ZERO TOLERANCE for that. A few days later three large men cornered my mother at a local casino, they walked up climbed in my truck and decided they wanted to have a discussion with her. Sorry had I been there it been a short discussion(she was alone) and is 49. They procedded to tell her, we had two options rehire the person and do this and that and basically allow him to use our shop as a front. option 2 they where gonna either break in still our stuff trash our shop and burn it down, or just shoot us all. I guess they think their a gang or gangsters of some kind. While my mom was scared to death, my dad and I dont get deterred by threats.

So iv basically been living at our shop with my trustly bat(gunless for now)

My issue is while I dont want to have the need to shoot anyone I ant gonna be the guy who got shot with a bat in his hand.

My issue is, I have lived in places where a simple glock was all I needed, or out in the country and opted for a ar or shotgun for home defense, but this is different. Our shop is large probably 100 feet by 75 feet, with the main office area off of that gararge area, two large lots on either side of the building all told over half a city block. My first thought was a glock 45 cal simple easy to use and with my permit carry 24/7. Though with the large building possibly a issue outside could be a 50-75 yard plus shoot out. with alot of cars around to deal with. so I then went to a 16 inch ar15 flattop flip up sights light on it. The issue I have here is I dont want that day to come and if it did I do not want someone who is innocent to get shot. Theirs a 24/7 very popular gas station right across the street, a resturant on the other side street and alot of traffic. So Im thinking while the ar would likely be the best choice for defense not for where I am at. So I go to a shotgun, prob a mossberg 500 mid length barrel light on it. If I go with the shotgun or ar I can not conceal carry of course thus not going to be on me 24/7.
SO here are the options I see feel free to correct me with your throughts.

A. Glock 45 acp, carry 24/7 concealed
B. AR15 5.56 hollow point ammo( something with low penetration to reduce risk to others)
C. mossberg 500 00 buckshot or slugs.
D. get the glock to carry shotgun for jic and long range( same money as ar and have both)
Ofcourse they all have their penetration and risk to innocent people, but I would like to reduce that as much as possible.
I seriously doubt they have the balls, but like gun owners say, better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

You're starting over again?

I think I'd do a little threat assessment, preferably involving the police (if nothing else, to ensure they have the threat on record somewhere). You're probably not going to have a running gunfight in West Memphis at 50-75 yards. I'd be more concerned about a drive-by or a walk-up. A long gun isn't going to be of much use then, and if you haven't done some serious defensive pistol training with a qualified instructor, a sidearm may not help either.

My first thought was that your Dad made a big mistake because IMHO the area he picked to move to sucks! Listen to the wisdom in the previous post as it was very good!

I feel like you've posted almost this identical question in the past...?

First things first, report this. It wouldn't hurt to have police cars driving around your neighborhood. Also, the casino might have surveillance that would be helpful in tracking the perps down, and the police would take a look at that. I'd think this might actually get to the level of racketeering, in which case the feds might be interested.

Install security cameras. Notify the neighboring houses and businesses about the threat so they know to keep on the lookout for suspicious activity. You don't have to give them any details about your weapons or any measures you take, but let them know that an associate was threatened so they can take measures and be another set of eyes. A dog might not be a bad idea.

I would also try not to operate in patterns that can be anticipated, and avoid being alone. Text messages and cellphones can be employed to let people know where and when you'll be moving about. GPS might be helpful here.

I won't try to give you gun advice, other than to say all of the guns you mention have defense value and have good reputations.

Pretty much all of his threads over the last several years are about how 1) he's a 300lb guy, 2) he's moving somewhere from somewhere, or staying somewhere else, and 3) he's going to have to shoot somebody for one reason or another...

It's really quite sad either way - either he's full of it, or he's living in (and constantly moving into more) conditions where his life really sucks.

Straight forward answer CALL THE COPS.

As for the defensive weapon, the ONLY option is a shotgun. Handgun against multiple assailants won't be useful, rifle against multiple assailants in close proximity to bystanders in town won't be safe, and frankly, you're extremely deluded to even suggest that you'll be getting into a "50-75yrd shoot out outside"... For what it's worth, if 2-3, or more armed men come to kill you, it won't matter what you have, unless your 'weapon of choice' happens to be 2-3, or more armed men... You'll be dead.

I honestly don't know why any of us entertain this guy when he posts this crap.

Actually my life is pretty dam good. Does urs suck as it must just to enjoy trying to put others down. I never said im going to have to shoot someone but you can bet ur rear end if someone is a threat to me or my family im going to to what ever I have to do to protect me or my family. My mom and dad spoke to an officer basically said not much they can do unless theres evidence and if theres an issue call them. 50-75 yard is about the size of our lot so its a possibility. Like someone else said likely a drive by well that would be close to 50 yards our back office (my office) 75 is probably pushing it. Three armed men give me a glock 45 and knowing when they got in the gate id give me a 80% odd of not being the dead man. I know how to shoot and am very well at it. Id personally rather have a 15 round 45 caliber handgun against 2 or three armed men the the shotgun so I dont get how you say a hangun is useless

What I see useless is ur useless post complaining about me while u complain about others entertaining me.

Well she was not actually in the casino lot at the time she had stopped in parking lot down from the casino. I guess cause a friend of hers had called her. So I doubt there were cameras by. We have "guard" dogs but their like bubby dogs were putting cameras up had already been laying that out. Though their only good after the fact. My dad and I have always tried to operate with out being predictable. I never come and go the same way every time or at the same time. Now instead of say pulling up getting out opening the gate gettin in pulling our cars in we call who ever is here they open it and such.
