Savage 220 20 ga. slug gun
Thinking of pulling the trigger (pun intended) on a new Savage 220 20 ga. slug gun. I have an extra Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 scope, still NIB, would this be a good scope for this shotgun?

great choice on the gun and scope.......I have the gun with a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40. Look for & purchase the Remington AccuTips in 3", lastweek I saw them on ableammo.com for sale. Also for scope mounts, I use the DNZ part # 18200, perfect fit. They are one piece

I have one on my wish list.................... If your in a shotgun only state, it's a MUST have IMO !!! BTW - I like those DNZ mounts & rings also. |
Thanks guys. Will the DNZ low mount (10200) work instead of the med mount?

It may work, but contact DNZ. I did just that and informed them of the scope I was using and they told me with a 40mm bell the #18200 would be perfect, and I must say DNZ was on point. Also I found the best price for the DNZ on OpticsPlanet.com

I know they make shotgun/slug specific scopes, not sure if this has anything to do with different style of recoil?
